Conversations
During Phase 1 three community conversations were held in the three primary areas of the county. The conversations used a process allowing individual then small group reflection and sharing, then whole group sharing, then a prioritizing and distillation to find shared essential thinking about ideas and issues. The conversations were primed by reading quotes from the interviews of community members and showing landscape photographs. Phase 2 will result in another set of conversations where final words and images describing the community’s relationship and concerns about the land and environment of Lake County will be arrived at. This project’s goal is to facilitate evolving, inclusive community conversations on the divisive issue of climate change and from these generate unique, local language and images inspiring environmental advocacy, stewardship, resilience and adaptation.
