Reflections That Cause Musings on Balance

2006

Port Angeles Fine Arts Center, WA
8” diameter convex mirrors
Installation area approx. 20’ x 30’ x 18’

An outdoor installation along a bend in a path through the woods created with off-the-shelf convex mirrors placed at vantage points where walkers could brilliant, small vignette of the person located with the landscape behind them and unseen. This landscape could not be seen except in the mirror image, though they remained a part of it. The effect was unusual in how it accentuated the landscape and re-scaled the human to be more then the environment you were in – thus the questioning of balance.
